Kling 4.0 pricing: credits, cost per second at 1080p, and plans as of October 15, 2026

After Kling 4.0 opened to everyone on October 15, 2026 budgets are counted in credits per second of video, not a mythical API dollar rate. A creator check on the evening of October 15 showed about 15 credits per second at 1080p and 10 at 720p; a public API tariff still does not exist.

01

Credits per second

In the Kling UI on the evening of October 15, 2026 a 30-second Kling 4.0 clip at 1080p 16:9 billed as 450 credits — 15 credits per second. The same clip at 720p was 300 credits, or 10 credits per second.

The creator states billing is per second and that input video duration (a reference or a clip being edited) counts toward billed seconds. That matters for Omni Reference and edit modes.

A public 4K credit rate was not locked on that snapshot: 4K could still show as coming soon in the UI. We do not invent a 4K figure.

Kling plans and who gets 4.0

A October 15, 2026 plans-page snapshot (USD before tax, secondary check): Standard about $8.80/month with 660 credits — Kling 4.0 was not listed under Model Benefits. Pro about $32.56 with 3,000 credits plus a 10% discount on Kling 4.0 generations. Premier starts around $80.96; Ultra+ around $544.99 for a large credit pack; Pro and above list that same 10% discount.

Kling often runs a first-month promo — banner and account prices can differ from regular rates. Check the live plans screen before buying, not only a third-party snapshot.

Estimating one finished clip

Take a final 15-second 1080p clip: 15 × 15 = 225 credits on a successful pass. If one final needs three generations, that is already 675 credits for picture alone — before script, edit and versioning.

On Pro (3,000 credits) you get roughly ~200 seconds at 1080p or ~300 seconds at 720p before discount and input-video billing. Ten finals at 15 seconds with two retries each burn credits faster than a naive per-second headline suggests.

Treat the 10% Kling 4.0 discount on Pro+ as upside, not a reason to cut credit headroom: public materials on Oct 15 were ambiguous about how the discount hits the per-second rate.

04

There is no API price list yet

A public Kling 4.0 API was still coming soon on October 15–16, 2026. You cannot budget against an API dollar-per-second figure — it does not exist. Automation today runs through MCP and CLI on web-plan credits.

When outsourcing production is cheaper

A Kling subscription fits teams that write prompts and pick takes every day. If you need vertical volume across several geos, look at mass vertical videos and AI video production for business: the model stays inside; outside you buy scripts, versioning and layout.

Mass formats on our side also quote a CPM path: about $2.40 per 1,000 views for mass distribution math based on 0.20 ₽ per view at 84 ₽/$. Handcrafted videos start from $190.

Model comparisons live in the 2026 guide to AI video models. Capability detail without the price sheet sits in the Kling 4.0 availability article.

frequently asked

01How many credits does one second of Kling 4.0 use?
About 15 credits at 1080p and about 10 at 720p on the October 15, 2026 creator check. Input video counts toward billed seconds.
02Is Standard enough for Kling 4.0?
On the Oct 15 Model Benefits snapshot Standard did not list Kling 4.0. Plan for Pro or higher.
03Is there an official Kling 4.0 API price?
No. The API is still coming soon, so there is no separate public API rate card.
04Why does a finished clip cost more than «price per second»?
Failed takes, billed input references, editing, versioning and platform adaptation all sit on top of a single successful second.
05Does the 10% Pro discount change the credit rate?
Pro and higher advertise a 10% Kling 4.0 discount; treat it as a bonus and keep credit reserve until your account shows the exact application.
